Paint a Giraffe for Rachel

Help raise funds for a lifesaving operation to support Rachel’s fight for life. GoFundMe

Rachel’s favourite animal is the giraffe. What a graceful gentle giant the giraffe is.  With it’s long neck and thin long legs it is the tallest mammal in the world and also one of the most comical!

The Jolly Giraffe

Choose one of our templates below and add some colour and pattern to create the jolliest of giraffes. There’s no age limit, so why not get colouring with the whole family this summer! There’s no cost involved in entering your jolly giraffe design either.

We would like to see your most imaginative, colourful, crazy paintings of giraffes. We will then print your paintings onto fabric and turn them into beautiful, high quality tote bags. Our tote bags are exceptionally stylish and durable, made from 100% cotton. This unique design is only available for a limited time. Will you spot your giraffe on the bag?

All the giraffe designs will be made into a collage and printed on 100% cotton. All materials, printing and production of the bags will be donated by The Silk Bureau Ltd. This means that every penny raised will go straight towards Rachel’s fund raising appeal.

If you would like to read the full story of Rachel’s appeal please follow the link to her ‘GoFundMe’ page here. You can donate online and/or buy one of our limited edition tote bags.

Choose a template, colour it in and return your finished design by 1st September 2019 to:

Printing Scarves

Shrinkage

The processes involved in digital textile printing causes the original fabric to shrink. If you are printing scarves, the size of the finished product will be important to you. For example, if you have square artwork, you will be expecting your finished scarf to be square!

To get the printed fabric closer to the size you need, all fabric intended for scarves must go through an extra step to reshape it. Please allow extra time on your deadlines to allow for this process.

Let us introduce you to the …

Stenter

The stenter is an enormous piece of machinery that has many uses, including coating our fabrics and reshaping scarf orders.

After travelling through a solution to soften the fabric, it then passes over a flat bed, gripped on the selvedge edges to pull it back into shape.

It’s a long and precise process that needs to be carefully monitored.

Shrinkage Disclaimer

If you have selected to use our hemming service, we will check the stentered fabric for you before we begin to finish your scarves. If you are not using our service, it’s up to you to check the size BEFORE you cut out the individual scarves from the fabric length. We cannot re-size after your scarves have been cut out.
